“Verbeauty” Sings Fergie (Technically Ludacris)

I’d heard that there was footage out there of Kris Versteeg (a.k.a. “Verbeauty”) singing Fergie’s “Glamorous,” but now I’ve found it! Priceless! Adam Burish and Troy Brouwer seemed to get a kick out of it too…Tee hee…

Tazer Gets a Metaphorical Kick to You Know Where…

Jonathan Toews says getting immediately eliminated from the Elimination Shootout of the skills competition was as painful as “a kick to you know where”…LOL…

And, obviously Tazer has a cold, so, hope he gets well soon.

Are Dave Bolland and Kris Versteeg BFF???

Fair-Weather “Fans” Need Not Apply

As you can see from this interview with Jonathan Toews after a loss against the Blues last night, the guys feel bad enough when they lose.  So, is it really necessary for Hawks “fans” to boo their own team at home like they did during this game??? (more…)

Introducing the Five Minute Interference Call!

What was with that interference call on Cam Barker after he checked David Backes on the boards in the first period of the Hawks/Blues game tonight?  Barker got a five-minute major penalty for that interference call. The hockey pundits said that interference is usually a minor penalty, meaning only two minutes, but has anyone ever seen interference called as a major penalty, meaning five minutes?  Pat Foley and Eddie Olczyk were even baffled at the interference being a major penalty, though Olczyk acknowledged later that per the rule book a major penalty can be called for interference; that it’s at the discretion of the official.  Still, what about that hit merited a major penalty?  (Oddly enough, history repeated itself in the 3rd period when Dustin Byfuglien got called for interference for the same exact kind of hit.  Yet Byfuglien’s interference call was only a minor penalty.)  (more…)

2009 All-Star Skills Competition

Cam Barker, Colin Fraser, Duncan Keith Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and James Wisniewski muse about who’s going to do what during the All-Star Skills Competition.  Brian Campbell is in the Fastest Skater Competition, Jonathan Toews the Accuracy Shooting Competition, and Patrick Kane is in the Breakaway Challenge.  And Wiz thinks that Dustin Byfuglien would win hands-down in a hotdog eating contest.

Bolly Named to the YoungStars Game!

Truly, Dave Bolland seems like a stand-up guy. That’s why today I was grinning from ear to ear to see that he is going to the YoungStars game in Montreal. Should be interesting to see him face Kris Versteeg as the opposition. Congrats Bolly! Can’t wait to see how you do!

Don’t Mean to Be Critical but…

Yeah, I really don’t mean to be critical but I can’t help but notice that the Blackhawks have been struggling the past few games. Is it because it’s mid-season and other teams are on to the Hawks’ strategy? Is it because the Hawks have had so many injuries and there are too many players working at a deficit?  Are they just tired?  What is it???  (more…)

The Hawks Organization Reaches Out to Women and Beginning Hockey Newbies

Looks like the Hawks organization took mine and other people’s suggestions to hold more educational seminars for women and beginning hockey fans. Excellent! Way to go Blackhawks organization! Thank you. If only I could have attended.

Blues Singin’ the Blues…And So Are We…Kinda

For once, the War Room in Toronto ruled no-goal in the Hawks’ favor in the second period of the Hawks/Blues game tonight. Seems to me that doesn’t happen often. For some reason Chicago teams always seem to play the role of underdog. Don’t know why that is, just know that it is so. That decision led to the Hawks’ 2-1 win over the Blues. (more…)
