Rooting for Your Favorite Team Even into the Great Beyond
I was visiting the Bohemian National Cemetery on North Pulaski recently and came upon this:
So what is this you may be wondering? Well, it’s either a memorial wall or a columbarium for Cubs fans that have gone into, let’s just say, extra innings in the great beyond. I can’t decide if this is folks just having fun even in death, the mark of a true and ardent fan, or just macabre and inappropriate. At first I thought this might be a little too macabre, especially since the memorial plaques say something to the effect of “Season began” and then the date of the person’s birth, and then “Season ended” to represent the date of the person’s death. But then I put it in perspective. I thought if there was a Blackhawks memorial wall or columbarium I would give serious thought to being put on it or into it.
What do you think? Is this bad form and creepy, or just getting the last laugh on death?

I am a Cubs fan and I think this is a little creepy. I suppose there are some people that really like the cubs though. This is not for me though.
