First of all, this is my blog and dogging underachievers is what I do. But nobody makes you come here and read. People do come here and read though because they’re tired of the lies they read elsewhere. Second, did you read the part about how his teammates are forever setting him up for sweet goals? Deny it all you want, but I have eyeballs. And yes, if you call passing from the blue line an assist, sure, he’s got plenty of those. But that only gives strength to my criticism that he can’t take it to the net. (Kind of like Brian Campbell who had what like 50 assists last season because all he could do is pass, and not all that well.)

Like I said, I hear it from TRUE hockey fans at the games all the time about what they really think of Kane. The question is, who has the balls to say it in an article in the Sun-Times or the Daily Herald? Who has the balls to say it on Twitter or on a blog like this one? The point is, people are thinking it and people are saying it.

And last night’s game is another classic example. How many times did he just leave the puck (I mean, because of a whiff, not as a give-and-go) because of lousy stick handling? I think I counted at least 3 and that doesn’t include his other sloppy passes and a giveaway.

You can’t overlook the obvious just because you like somebody. He was horrible in the Olympics until his teammates gave him the coverage he has cushily come to expect, and he was horrible in last year’s playoffs. (MINUS 9 I believe wasn’t it?) And like I said, I’m tired of people making excuses for him and his teammates having to babysit him just because he puts kids and their parents in seats at the UC. Again, there are much more deserving players out there.

Now if Q would just stop switching the offensive lines up every 5 seconds…
