I really think it is hard for a line to gel when they change so much. For instance, in last night’s game against the Avs, Q had Patrick Kane starting out on the Dave Bolland line. Then he switched Kane in and out for Marian Hossa. I know why Q did that, but it seemed to throw Kane off. And look at the 4th line. Those guys have remained consistently awesome since Colin Fraser came back. So, maybe there’s something to be said for trying to keep the lines as much the same as possible. When you play with the same line mates over and over, you learn each other’s styles of play. Keep switching in and out, and like I said, it makes it harder to gel.

He’s gotta keep making adjustments to get the match-ups he needs.
Hopefully he took a ton of notes and knows exactly who’s gonna be facing who on the ice when the 2nd season fires up. (That is why he was hired, right?)

Yes…I gave Buff kudos…as a d-man. I think that’s where he was always meant to be. I think it was Denis Savard who tried him on forward and he just stuck there for some reason. But I don’t think forward ever suited him.

Now if Q would just stop switching the offensive lines up every 5 seconds…

Agreed on all points. And it could have had something to do also with any/all of Mora’s comments about Havlat and/or Tallon, but he never mentioned that. He was pretty definite about it being a payroll issue at CSN. Any really good reporter or anchor will always tell it like it is, and Mora always did.
